All vehicles must meet the following requirements:
- Registered and insured in New Zealand
- All vehicles driving with Bolt must be covered by at least a third-party property damage car insurance.
- To drive with Bolt, you also need to be listed on the car’s insurance policy, even if you're not its owner or the main policyholder.
- Must not display any commercial branding or advertising
- Hold a valid Certificate of Fitness
- Must not be a taxi, ex-driving school, government, branded or rebuilt vehicle
- The vehicle must not be older than 15 years
- Must be a Hatchback, sedan or SUV
- In good technical and cosmetic condition (including but not limited to: no dents, clean interior, and no mechanical issues)
Car-specific requirements:
- 4 doors
- 4 seats (excluding the driver)
- Must have a working air conditioning
- Must have the capacity to take at least 3 large pieces of luggage
