At Bolt, we constantly strive to improve our services and positively impact our cities.
With this objective at the core of our operations, we needed a partner who shared our values and could work with us to achieve our goals.
We’re excited to announce our partnership with Starship Technologies, the world leader in autonomous delivery vehicles.
Together, we’ll transform the way food and grocery deliveries are made, bringing customers a new level of convenience and sustainability right to their door.
The Bolt and Starship Technologies journey so far
Like Bolt, Starship Technologies is an Estonian-born company that’s rapidly expanded its global presence.
And today’s announcement coincides with another significant milestone for the company.
Starship Technologies has become the first autonomous delivery company to complete 5 million commercial deliveries worldwide.
This was achieved in just 7 months since celebrating 4 million deliveries in November 2022.
At Bolt, we have over 100 million users in 45 countries and 500 cities globally, offering services like ride-hailing, micromobility, and food and grocery delivery.
By partnering with Starship Technologies, we can now provide a broader range of delivery options that accommodate different order sizes, preferences, and distances.
Partnership objectives and aspirations
The partnership between Bolt and Starship Technologies is driven by shared objectives and a vision to transform cities and delivery services.
Both companies have expressed their excitement and optimism about the collaboration.
“Both Bolt and Starship have created innovative products which have revolutionised the way people move around and buy and receive goods in cities.”
Jevgeni Kabanov, Bolt’s President
According to Jevgeni, the partnership will provide millions of Bolt Food customers with a sustainable delivery option, fulfilled by Starship’s successful and intelligent service.
Jevgeni’s hopeful about expanding the collaboration, too — making deliveries more affordable and accessible to a larger customer base.
Alastair Westgarth, CEO of Starship Technologies, echoes this sentiment, emphasising the shared goal of making local transport more sustainable.
“Bolt and Starship share very similar goals of promoting sustainability in local transport. In our case, we offer a convenient and on-demand autonomous delivery service, perfectly aligning with the mission of making cities more eco-friendly.”
Alastair Westgarth, CEO of Starship Technologies
Adding to the discussion, Ahti Heinla, Co-founder and CTO of Starship Technologies, brings up exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
“We think the synergy with Bolt’s overall portfolio of services will not only help Starship expand to new markets but also provide some fun, fully electric, future-proofed delivery options to the markets Bolt serves.”
Ahti Heinla, Co-founder and CTO of Starship Technologies
Shaping the future of delivery today
With shared goals and aspirations, Bolt and Starship Technologies are committed to improving the delivery landscape and bringing positive change to customers and cities.
