Although the focus is on teams we do expect our managers to be highly technical individuals.
Technology Management TrackThe technology management track is about driving innovation and technical excellence by leveraging expertise to make strategic decisions, manage projects, and evaluate new technologies while leading a team. It's primarily focused on deep technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
Roles and competencies of people management track
As an Engineering Manager, you are a first-line manager who leads and empowers a team of talented individual contributors, guiding them towards excellence while contributing your own technical expertise to drive successful project delivery. Typically, you’ll have 4–8 direct reports.

You encourage constant innovation and growth by working collaboratively to deliver high-quality work and foster a culture of accountability for technical decisions, ensuring that everyone takes responsibility for their actions in the long term.
